What a load of crap. The bearded bloke said that the reason for the current Falcon v Commodore racing was due to the dominance of the Nissan Skyline GTR. That is not correct. Europe had moved away from the Group A formula to 2 litre racing in the early 1990s. This left Australia in limbo as only Nissan and Holden were still homologating cars for Group A. The BMW M3 and Ford Sierra RS500 were homologated for the 1987 World Touring Car Championship and were well past their use by date. The reason Australia chose V8 racing was to allow Ford to race the Falcon, not ban the Nissan Skyline.
