I've never heard of booking a hoist at a workshop. Would a workshop actually allow someone to use a hoist?
Most workshops get narky about people crossing the yellow line into the shop for OH+S reasons, I can see many allowing people to BYO cars and risk a lot of damage. With no compensation but their standard hourly rate.
That said, $70 an hour is a steal for allowing you to use a hoist. I could fully service and knock over 2 cars in an hour.
I would happily pay about $70 to use a hoist for a while. I've got access to a holiday house personally so storage isn't an issue, but a decent hoist to service mine and my parents vehicles would be a cost I would be more than happy to pay for.
