USA has 95 guns per 100 people, and 10.3 gun induced deaths per 100,000 population.

Australia has 15 guns per 100 people and 1.06 gun induced deaths per 100,000 population.

What does this show? That the USA has just over 6 times the gun rate, resulting in more than 9 times the gun induced death rate. What this says to me is that the more guns there are, the more chance there is that the rate of gun induced deaths is going to be higher.

Take the guns away, and the deaths per 100,000 drops significantly. You can argue that arming innocent people protects them from those who would kill with guns, but the evidence of these pure numbers says different, and only those with a vested interest in guns would even bother to argue the point (that would be most Americans and any other gun owners - just watch the responses that appear below).
