They're a rugged 'modern oldskool' small car - nothing fancy, gets the job done reliably.

I learned to drive in the previous model to these ones with the 2.4L engine and 5sp manual.

These ones would be a sweet first car or commuter if you don't want bells and whistles and it'll live forever in manual guise.

Mind you, they're about the same as a nice Ecoboost Falcon on the second hand market, maybe forget the Lancer as the first car.
