Smile 1/6th scale working 327-chev V8
Hey guys, check this out its amazing!
A fully functional 1/6th scale 327 1964 Corvette motor.
This guy not only has talent but way to much time on his hands eh? (LoL)

It's displacement is 1.10 cu in, 18 cc


What an amazing piece of engineering! I wonder how well it would go in an actual model car.

Very true, I guess the size is 1/6th but maybe the actual displacement couldn't be because the internal walls would end up being too thin or something.

Displacement is dependent on the square of the bore radius. Halving the bore width will reduce displacement by a factor of 4, and so on.

Halving a cylinder by half....

Halving the size of a bore will reduce it's SURFACE AREA by 4 times, couple that with the fact that also reduce the STROKE by half.

Start with a cylinder that is 10 cm dia and 20 high. Volume is 1570 cc.

Another cylinder which is half the size 5 cm dia and 10 cm, volume is 196 cc. Certainly not half the volume. One eighth the volume.

Peuty, It comes down very quickly hey, 327 at 1/2 scale is 40 ci, at 1/4 scale 5 ci and 1/8 scale .6 ci.

Close enough anyway. Hopefully my maths is ok.
