One of the biggest announcements to come from Ford in a few years has been the release of a SUV EV...that just happens to shockingly share the name with one of the most iconic nameplates Ford has.
Mustang. What begs the question now is, will (or can) Ford make the Mustang a sub brand of somwhat niche vehicle's? Could they introduce other products under a mustang sub brand. 4 door coupe? Cheap mid engined Porsche boxer challanger?

Blows my mind the amount of different body shapes BMW and Merc have got off the one platform. Im still not convinced its a good long term strategy but it seems to be working for them now?...
Im on the fence for the E-Mustang thing, can appreciate why they would do it but IMO they should have ran with a different name plate and styling. For me it shows they had doubt in the concept and needed the name plate to push it. Perhaps they are looking for Mustang owners to have an E-Mustang as a second car for the family etc..Im sure there are lots of good reasons why they went that path.

I hope they don't do anymore Mustang inspired vehicles though. This ones bad enough. |
