Default AU thermostat housing leak.

Hey Hey,

I put on a serpentine belt cover the other day and since i replaced the bolt with the stud i cant stop it from leaking. Ive replaced the o ring and it still leaked. Replaced the o ring again and sanded both surfaces till they were dead smooth, I even checked it with feeler gauges and its perfect.

Why does it still leak ?

It gets wet where the top housing meets the lower housing then drips onto the ac pump.

Suggestions ?

I don't have a specific torque but i didn't want to go any tighter in alloy. Its not so tight now that it has been goo'd

Started leaking from the stud yesterday. Regoo'd the entire housing and studs again and let it set for longer before starting it. Seems to have worked but i will check during the week periodically.

I thought that too but the leak is moving around the housing, It was leaking between the mating surfaces, then from the stud. Now it seems to be good but this week will tell as i will rack up close to 700km. I always keep a bottle of coolant in my car so i should be right and its just a tiny leak, I check it daily too.
