Default AU 6cyl auto

Hi guys, I picked up an AU auto with 146k on the clock and engine is pretty smooth, but sounds like it has a noise bearing in the water pump (common?)
Also, seems like the transmission is locked in 3rd?
What's the remedy to fix this? Heard it's the ecu in limp mode?
Other than that, the tranny is smooth
Going to change oils and coolant when doing water pump

Cheers

G'day Brad, my water pump lasted a bit over 400k and had to replace about 5 years ago, about $50 for pump off ebay & $8 gasket glue, easy to fix yourself. If you replace the oil & filter in the tranny, make sure you get a new rubber gasket for the sump & don't over torque the bolts or it will leak like a sieve. I think you can get a kit to do the transmission service. Hope it fixes the problem. Maybe someone else with a bit more knowledge of the transmission can shed some light on why it's not changing into fourth. Good luck with it mate.

Cheers. Mark.
