As some know I have been building a 68 302 boss Mustang with a friend of the family and droping a big block in it.
The 460 came out of a 11sec xd, mated with a c10 and a 3600 high stall, 9 inch diff with 4.11 gears. The diff is in after some shortening. The engine is and trans are in after some choping of the shock towers, but after a change of heart we have decided to pull it out again and put a toploader in for add fun!!!!!!!! Here is a pic: crap quality I know, but I will get some more soon. |

Looks like a 1970 Mustang to me. Go the 1969 front clip though, they look a lot better.

Well should have the engine back out next week, and have the Toploader in around mid Jan with any luck. Then coustom tailshaft, twin 3 inch exhaust, 6 point roll cage, and then time to take it out for some track time. |

Thats sexy. Mustang is definately on my list of cars to own... Tho I think I'd go for a '66 fastback Shelby clone.

The reson i asked was, I am looking at putting a clevo into a 1970s Maverick(not the 4wd type) and i will have to cut the towers to fit. What state are you in and who was the engineer you used. Thanks. |

Yeah, 1970 stang, and I hope its not a real Boss 302, they're worth a mint unmolested! Can't really tell from the pic too well, but the shock tower cutaways suggest its been fitted with a RRS strut package?
You'll definitly need a Big Block input shaft, the small block input has a longer spigot that won't work with the back of the big block crank (oh, and the strength of the small block input might be a bit iffy with a BB infront of it)

Its not a real Boss 302 just a mock up, it had a 289 and a c4 in it when we got it.
