Just wondering if its worth putting a cooler on the stock auto, remember reading they prolong the life of the box a fair bit?
If so has anyone got any pics of one mounted, had a look at the front but cant work out an easy way to mount one. Cheers, Phil |

mount it in front of the condsensor, they come with brackets that you can mount to the underside of the radiator support panel
And an air cooler by the simple nature of physics will work better than one that runs beside water at boiling temperature

Not sure ... Earls usually make good coolers .... don't know about price though.
This will be a future mod of mine ... I think i need it for my auto ... especially for heavy load carrying and towing that I regularly do.

I fitted a B&M Supercooler to mine, paid about $120 for their largest size. Brand is not too important, get the biggest one you can find :P

yeah i got a heavy duty one. made by ford. you don't want one too big otherwise the radiator wont get any air.. this is what has happenned in my gf's prelude. it's overheating due to oversized ATF cooler

how exactly do you get the tranny oil line to an extra cooler if its being cooled by the radiator? Do you have to cut the lines or something? I plan on installing one but cant work out how i will get oil to it

Most kits come with the lines and fittings if it is suited to your model vehicle.
I had a look at an AU2 XR8 (Joe's at Crescent) and its ATF Cooler ... it's not that large ... and fits nicely behind the front grille ... and doesn't really take up all the air from the radiator. He said that's all that is needed ... he also mentioned not to go too large either for the same issue that Baboon_AU mentioned.
