Its a show on Fox. I think it was the discovery Channel. Anyway, first time I've seen it. Some pretty cool cars. Tonights episode had this Custom Shop in the states build a car from part using the EBAY Motors web site. They got a 67 Fastback Mustang that was a wreck and stipped it down and did a fill rebuild. They incorporated some of the 05 Stang into the rebuild. They got a 69 Mustang and cut the front of both cars and welded the good bits together. Apparenly, due the Mustangs design, its not advisable to cut the front half of the car off. But the car came out a treat. Ford Racing even supplied them with a ready made engine doing 400 Horses. Of course, he supercharged it and got over 500 out of it. Anyway, it was a sweet looking car. Just wondering if anyone else has seen it. Gonna check out the Ebay Motors web site in America and see if i can find any pics.

Is that the one where they did the trick tail lights that are super clean and flush looking? If so I saw it about a year ago on Discovery.

No wonder I couldn't find anything on it on Ebay motors. Nice looking car. Found 1 custom mustang on Ebay which sold for $129,000 in US dollars. But I think its back up for sale and its at $65,000. |

Very nice! That Rides show is pretty cool. Not so long ago they documented the build of an Eleanor GT 500 Mustang (sp?) look-alike by this company that builds them full time. Was pretty cool.

my wifes parents got me the DVD box-set of the entire fisrt series of 'Rides' for xmas.
theres 10 episodes, plus the pilot episodes. a quick run down: ep. 1: follows the build up of the prototype for the new AC Cobra. ep. 2: 'fast forward fastback', the mustang you guys mentioned. ep. 3: follows the build-up of a Hummer for a pro-NFL player at "Westside Customs" ep. 4: follows a team as they build a life size, drivable replica of a hotwheels model. 5: Race driver Rod Millen re-engineers a Lexus, swaps the V6 for an V8 etc. 6: A custom shop turns a '56 chev pickup into a cuctom roadster 7: custom builder builds a '32 roadster for the Edelbrock company 8: follows a hot rod building family over a couple of car build-ups 9: follows a guy building a mean 33' 2door sedan, and goes over motocross rider Jeremy McGraths custom car. 10: follows the build-ups of four cars being built for a major car show Pilot episode: introduces Chip Foose, (legendary custom car builder). A trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, they visit the SEMA show, and unveil two of Chip Foose's new cars. lol sorry for the long post, i was basically reading of the back of the DVD's as i haven't seen them all yet. but they are excellent to watch, especially if you are into that sort of thing, re-engineering old cars. I got so many ideas for my XB coupe just from the first 3 disc's. They also have excellent extras on the dvd's, like the advert "The One" for the new Ford GT. (GT40). Good value.....even tho i didn't pay for them lol. |

Yeah it is good to see that some of these Hot cars are coming out with the Ford Logo on them.
If that is a list of Season one, Season two must have the Eleneor Episode and there was also the one that was the Drawing to Clay to Fibreglass to SEMA on the Shelby GR1. It is also good that the show is on at about 5:30 on a Sunday so most of us can watch it (especially after the V8's during the year) |

they had a few 'Rides 3' episodes on last month, they seem to have resorted to the Fox recycle though....
That 'sick fish' Cuda is mint, and the power tour episode was mouth watering... I love that series, shows right from the design stage to the craftmanship needed...

Nice stuff.
I think the Mustang looks to much like Eleanor. A candy apple red would have finished it off.

It was "just" ok, but a bit surprised that nowhere in that story did they mention that they are using Toyota PowerTrains, and also that the company is owned by the Malaysian. They are claiming they are doing there own powertrains and a expanded range of up to 5 new models, but they recently fired the CEO for some sort of fraud They have had a recent price cut, but still too expensive here in AUS Just buy a Porsche and be done with it |
