Default Serive Auto or go Manual conversion?

I poped into the HP Factory today and i got a quote for a major service and they said around the $450 mark...I then asked about the AUTO and it depens if it just needs flushing out or if it need an major overhaul which would cost $2,000! Im just wondering how much would a manual conversion cost?

If I was faced with reco costs, then I'd definitely convert, as I'm a manual fan. I have had a brief look into it, and from what I could establish, you could probably do it for around 2k with a mechanic doing the install.

If your trans only needs a service, then I personally would just service it.

It was certainly worth it for the EA (but it only cost me about $600), so I reckon go for it.

Try the wreckers. AU conversions aren't quite a plentiful as e-series ones unfortunately.

AU manual parts will be a fair bit more than EA parts though!

I think you can pick up the parts alone for $1000-$1500. I'm not 100% on everything though, as I only looked very briefly before I ended up with a spare trans anyway.

Dude, I found myself in a very similar situation at one stage. In the end the manual conversion worked out cheaper fully installed!! - best thing I ever did! wouldnt reccomend any other way!
