Hi Everyone!
I found this forum yesterday whilst trying to locate information on how to repair something on my wife's "new car". Registered, found the tech section and my problems were solved (how to remove climate control cluster from AU Fairmont Ghia dash - dead set easy when you know how - thanks to the member that posted it!!). I have a bog stock AU series 1 Forte - gold (more like beige). Pretty boring around here I guess, but my wife's new car is a bit better. We have just found and bought (2 days ago) a december 1999 AU Fairmont Ghia - 1 owner. The car is dark green, fully optioned and then some (electric leather seats - niiiiiiice!!!)! The original owner sent it off to Tickford so now we have Tickford engine/driveline, Tickford suspension, Tickford 17" 5 spoke alloys and bodykit (chin spoiler, skirts, wing etc). Had a little bit off hassle trying to get insurance companies to identify it at first for what it was, but all is now sorted. I must say it is a bloody nice car and feels totally different to the Forte on the road (feels heavier/more solid). Car has travelled 102000km and full service history/books/receipts and should nearly be run in!! I think it was good value at $12000, feel sorry for the original owner though - he has lost $40,000 on it in 7 years (only problem with Ford's in my opinion). Look forward to chatting to you guys (& girls), off for a drive now!! Best regards, Darryl. PS - My Forte feels cheap now......
