So working on my sisters EF Falcon
Having an issue where its loosing allot of water and wanted some onpinions on what the problem might be... So when i go to bleed the cooling system after doing a coolant flush, what happens is it goes to bleed ok, and get the occasional bubble after its warming up.. which i would think is quite normal... But after its almost warm it gushes out where the radiator cap is seriously gushes, so i turn it off becuase it wont stop gushing it has released a heap of coolant out and takens a bit to fill it back up really not sure what the problem is here... any thoughts??? one recent changes are the heater tap was changed but simple and shouldnt be the culprit... at a loss... thanks in advance.... |

Does it gush out with the cap on and off if it does what the cap on check the seals on the cap if not it sounds like you could have a head gasket problem

My AU did a similar thing after changing the heater tap and buying a new cap.
The auto stores have 2 different caps for AU, a recovery one and a non recovery one. I notice that you say it is an EF so not sure whether the same situation happens with the EF caps. Make sure yours is the non recovery one. Might get some answers in the E series section Good luck |

Thanks mate, the cap i just replaced it with is a non-recovery type, its a cpc (might be the brand name) in the book it didnt have a recovery type cap part number.. (which makes sense as there is no place to recover the coolant from..)
thinking stav was correct with blocked\jammed thermostat and ill change that tomorrow nite.. cheers guys Quote:
