Default Another dodgy 2 minute mod by me!

Yeah, I know noone cares, but I'm bored!
I was working from home today, so needed something to help with the procrastination...

Actually got around to fitting one of the things I have lying around for the AU, and naturally I chose the easiest, quickest thing to do!

So, I did another one of my half assed mods - this time, an EF/EL fan belt cover - took all of 2 minutes to do.

Here's some pics of my gutless, stock, dirty, oily 6 cylinder in all her glory!
Decided I should clean the engine bay while I was there, so in pic 2 you will see the results of a dedicated 15 second wipe over with an oily rag...very nice.

I have doen this.
Its well worth while, certainly keeps it tidy. Mine weent on easy, except I snapped one of the bolts on the thermostat housing. And I have no easyouts. I had to pay a dude like 100 bucks to come and fix it.

Yeah, that's something I'd do.... Managed not to break anything for a change though, and considering I was there for 2 minutes, that's a pretty good effort.

Goes on easy as, just have to remove 1 thermostat bolt and replace it with the new bolt for the cover.

I mainly did it so I don't lose a hand next time I'm in there with the engine running.

I'm not too concerned about engine bay neatness as you may be able to tell!

So why didnt ford put them on to the AU's? was it to save money?

I'm just practicing mate - I figure if I can get the fan belt cover, intake piping, and BA XR8 pod setup in myself, then surely I could do the V8 conversion in a day?!

Early S1s did have them standard, then later on they probably realised that they are not needed and took them off.
