Today whilst on the train home from cirqular quay (work) Was travelling home on the WESTERN LINE (I KNOW I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING! but can happen any where nowadays.)
During my time on the train between granville/mount druit some A rsehole has grabbed my satchel bag that was sitting on my work bag and wedged under my legs and cunningly made off with my bag.. in it were- BF XR6 Turbo car keys.. - no rego or identy on those. WALLET 2 X $140+ digital cameras 4 SD cards with 2500 random photo's.. HOUSE KEYS Basically my whole identity. Have cancelled all my cards with the NAB. dropped into the St marys police station and reported the theft. Had emergency lock replacement on thoe house door locks.. X 6 HOWEVER, i cannot find my spare car key so my car is stranded at the station. What options do i have? -i almost fear finding the spare key for fear of bringing the car home and having some theives drop in knowin where i live, jumping in my car and driving off with the car!!... i plan on reprogramming a new remote so the code is different and have to get new key and cut it to suit.. Where and who can do this job for me? Thoe house lock guys can also sort my car out, however would just like a second opinion. Cheers for any help in this Stressfull time. |

Matt, were you on a V-Set, or Oscar/Millenium?
If on the latter, there's video camera's on them... and IMO, if you can, park the BF at a nearby friend's house in their garage, or get the locks changed on that too...

Tangara train.. 308 pm from Wynard all stops to penrith via strathfield. arrived at St Marys 410 PM , Worst feeling in the world knowing youve just been stolen from,Having everything taken from you from under your feet. Litterally!
very frustrated and angry at this situation, and how cunning someone has been to go to the trouble to take my bag that i had secured.. feel very lost with all keys and my identity stolen. Had to have the Fiance's dad drop in with spare keys to get me inside my house, to have new locks installed, now for all the fun calls to NRMA/Medicare.. sort the car problem out. new work travel pass.. And this close to christmas.. |

Well the travel card isn't too hard.... I think as long as you've got your ID with you, and have let the employee know about it, then you should be alright until you get the new travel card..
and i'm unsure about Tangara's.. The re-fitted one's got camera's as far as I know...

hulk being that you are saying sydney i would get the nrma ( thats the nsw break down service I think ) to take the car to their local holding yard It might cost you a few $$$$ but it is better than your pride and joy going by by
then organize for the locks to be changed at the soonest op hope that helps

I hope you find your spare key... Rumour has it Ford will not cut keys anymore unless you already have one in your posession = which means you have to put all new locks etc on the car...
Id get it towed to your nearest NRMA / Ford dealer if someone can lock it up tonight, otherwise you have a fair chance of it walking (specially if the criminal has half a brain).

Is the car still down at the station?
They maybe cruising station parking lots looking for it, since they know where you live they could narrow it down to probably 2 or 3 stations? |

If I was a thief I would work out which station is closest to your house by looking at your drivers licence then go to that station to claim the car. Either that or sit back and get off a the same station then wait until you've left then I wuld take the car. I'd be surprised if it's still at the station now.

Find your spare key and reset the remote pads. It will forget other remotes not used in seqience to learn remotes.
Thus theif will have to physically stick key in. he mifht see it and try keypads to not get a response. Add a steering lock so if he does find it and open it. Still wont drive it away. |

Call your insurance. They will cover it under theft. You will have to pay your excess, but you will have your keys replaced and new locks put into the car.

Well latest update..
SPent an hour Waiting for the friendly NRMA road service dude to arrive. He unlocked the car to break into it. Surprisingly easy! putting the car into nuetral once in it was easy however we could not overrule the "steering lcok". and could not move the car out of the car park with no steering for a tow truck to be able to pick her up off the street.. So had no choice but to leave the car overnight. We could not get the car to lock! so had to disconnect the battery and manualy lock it and closer the doors. For a bit of extra security we pulled the "starter motor fuse" -just in case! Apon him leaving my fiance and i jumped into her Honda jazz.. and couldnt believe our bad luck.. FLAT BATTERY!!! AAAARRRGGHHH crying with laughfter at how bad our arvo/night was getting... so had to get the NRMA to reorganise the same guy to double back to resque the other car! lol This morning i have visited the bank with my pass post. (last ID left) and taken a decent sum of money out over the counter. I have called the guys who did my house locks and they are going to meet at my car (still stranded in the station car park) and cut a key for me on the spot. -So i can drive the car to the nearest ford dealer for a new remote and new programming. |

Get two keys cut and programed. This way when you find your other key and remote your can program them yourself. Make sure they don't overcharge you. I recently had 3 keys and remotes programed for my car and they only charged me only $50. Warren |

I'm still stumped as to how someone stole a bag that was under your legs. Unless you were standing up and completely oblivious to the surrounding people?

This is why I hate travelling on trains in Sydney ... I always have my bag on my lap if i do sit down.
Shame you didn't have my number as I am in that area most of the time now. God it was an expensive exercise though ... I'd still be worried about the scums turning up at your house though.

You'd be surprised how well they can pull some stuff off. Especially when they have a decoy person to make a noise, so you look in the wrong direction etc.
I never carry my wallet in my back pocket anymore, I have everything in my front two pockets and check them every now and again (can also feel them against my legs). Whenever I stand up, and am leaving anywhere, I check my pockets for keys, wallet and phone. |
