Exclamation Cost of Running Holden Apps

I was in my Holden dealer, today, the number of new Holdens on the lot compared to my Ford dealers Falcon's, is huge !! You would think the Falcon was already gone ..I asked about the cost of running the Holden apps. Pandora, Stitcher, Bringo etc. Salesman said " if you use them for an hour an day, you will use 1gb of data a month. You need a good data plan. Download music to your smart phone and Blue Tooth to the radio., is the way around it."
I had never considered it would be that much...Something you need to be aware of, buying a car with apps...The Trax LTZ, sad to say ,is better equiped than Ecosport Titanium and cheaper.. Salesman said.."Holden can deliver any car in two weeks if not in stock." Ford really need to lift their game.....

Urgh Holden cannot deliver in 2 weeks if not in stock.

I just had a friend buy a Clubsport R8. 9 Week wait for it.

Why do you bother posting on these forums? Secondly why have you not bought a new car? You have been talking about it for years and wasting dealerships time.

This kind of stuff is boring! My local Ford dealer is full to the chop of new cars, even your hated Falcon! They have a number of them!

Dash GT..R8 is HSV. Isn't the reason to post to have debate ?? I can visit dealers ? cann't I ?? I love the Falcon !! I don't see the need to update the GHIA...I don't know who your Ford dealer is, but Tropical Ford has hardly any Falcons, compared to Lawrences Holden.. but Fiesta, Focus, Kuga, Ranger .plenty of...Have a nice day !!!

Doesnt matter if its a HSV or not. Theres guys waiting up to 9 weeks for Redline SS. So the salesmans full of **** and your as gullible as the next guy hes trying to jam!

As for the apps I think its unlikely, but would the salesman really know? Does he drive one day in or day out?

Yes debate maybe but you sound like a broken record. How long ago was it you went and looked a VE Calais and said how much better it was then your BFII?

Dash GT,
Looks like you're sick of letting morons go through to the keeper. I have been on this forums since 2004 and let me just say for every member that's is a human, there are 10 that are just nowhere on this forum.

I think theres still a shortage of wheels for SSVs.
At one stage they were airfreighting them in from the US at a massive loss.

Maybe ..The Pub..should be changed to : FORD Only Topics !!!!! there are topics on MB SClass Coupe, K900, Corvette Museum Sink Hole etc...at the moment....
From the enemy : The system’s only cost. Pandora will use, at worst, 1.5-2Gb of internet data per month, according to Holden.

If their crappy apps are that much of a download hog maybe they should offer free wifi at dealerships "drive by wifi"... imagine the avertising BS jargon they throw behind that

because unlike other some countries, Australia has big costs and download limits that would be laughed at elsewhere. Data here is very expensive.

Protip - Don't want to use it, don't. If you can't afford the $30 a month for a data sim, don't buy a brand new car.

Going to be really stupid here ...... why Apps in a car ...... I have them on my phone and that is enough ...... and is this the tech people want in cars these days???? Bloody hell! No wonder the new generation cars are becoming crap. No wonder I love my GT. Get in it, drive it, smash everyone else, do it in style and comfort and come home with a smile.

If this is what people want in cars we are doomed. So ..... when is the ICar coming?

Problem is with stricter laws there is no fun to be had on the road anymore.

Also, how many more iCars do you want? i10/20/30 and now bmw i3 and i8

The new Icar from Apple was talking about ...... 3lt/100k's. boring as bat poo, made from 100% recycled hippies and big enough to seat 2 full grown midgets. OH! But it has lots of apps and techy things

You can still have 100% legal fun in a GT or what ever. I still drive usually within the law and can still do so with a stupid grin on my face. I wouldnt drive like I used to 20 years ago (Thank goodness) but can still have MASSIVE amounts of fun .... and do so every single day.

Driving should be a pleasure. If that means playing with apps and other stupid buttons or deriving pleasure just from the actual driving experience, well thats up to the individual. I would rather sink my boot in, sink back in the seat, enjoy a sweeping bend and did I mention Freeway entrances?????? They should have drag lights at the start of those to make it more interesting

I'm with you mate though we're a dying breed. Most of my gen can't understand my love for v8's and the fun you can have.

Was just saying why cars are becoming more entertaining than transport inside rather than outside as with v8's, etc

Mate, you don't need to pay for anything. I was just implying that most people have large enough plans to cover this extra usage.

If you don't, don't use it. Would have thought that 4 to 5GB was the norm these days with even cheap plans like amaysim, etc

Another old guy checking in, do not even know what apps in a car are and why you would want them or that they even existed

I pay for internet at home, on my iPhone and iPad, I think that should do it, don't need my car hooked up to the net as well, people should be learning how to drive their car properly and reverse park and which lane to be in on the motorway rather than worrying if it is running the latest app.

I too am still stuck on the awesomeness of CD players in cars and FM radio is amazing……I still remember when you could only listen to a CD in a car when you were stationary as every bump made the CD skip
