Default Horn malfunction

Last night, the was parked in the driveway and out of the blue the horn started blaring for no reason.
It would have been going for a few minutes by the time I got out to it, I pushed the horn pad on the steering wheel and it stopped.

Anyone had this before?
Why would it have happened?
