Not bad really but what i have heard is the so called magnetec point only works for about 1000km then it's no better than others and if it's left to long past it's useby service life it goes into are more of a glop than others.
All oil hangs on it does not just vanish off the metal. 0w /10 oil would maybe hang on less than thicker oil. I have never seen a dry engine when pulling it down even months after it was last started. |

I use Valvoline Engine Armour 15W-40 but you can also use a full synthetic Synpower MST 5W-40 depends on your usage. I use Ryco Z516 seem good no problems

I've always stuck to the recommended viscosity for the car, but always change the oil every six months regardless of Km's....its served me well so far.

This is from the Valvoline site but most oil companies have them, just make sure that you use the oil that is recommended for you car regardless of the make or model don't just go off what ever is on special at the time. The right spec oil (even if it's full synthetic) and good quality filters are cheaper then replacing an engine, and like Mulga said change it every 6 month if you don't reach the Km |

Choice of brand is yours but any oil that meets the specs for your engine is quite OK as long as the vehicle is serviced regularly by the maintenance schedule.

Now if oil is the thing that is betwen two things that means they don't touch do they ?
Is it all the other contaminats that cause the problems. One oil may be seen as X better then another but after 1000km or more how true is that fact now or at 2000km etc ? |
