Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the EF speedo sender/EF ECU. I am installing a speedo corrector and want to know if i really have to pull out the cluster and intercept the signal right at the back, or if i can be lazy and cut it coming out of the ECU towards the cluster or something. I cant cut it before the ECU because im running an Auto. Any diagrams/manual scans/etc appreciated. Jase |

Jase I am pretty sure the speed sensor input goes into the dash computer and then on to the ecu and cruise control unit so you need to adjust the input to the speedo dash computer to get it all right. yes that means pulling the dash or running some long wires under the car to the sensor on the side of the gearbox.

is that the jaycar one? let me know how it goes. My speedo reads 20-25kph higher with the 3.9's.

yeah, thats the one.
looking at this (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=14), the signal goes to the ECU via the dash. this means if i alter it before the dash, i will stuff up the shift points. any ideas here? has anyone fitted one of these to an EF? jason |

you might have to use another speedo corrector between the 'speed signal out' wire and the ECU to re-correct the signal.

yeah, that would suck ***. theyre $50 each.
im also thinking about a chiptorque chip. if i got a speedo drive gear to suit, i could just get the shift points remapped with the chiptorque... so i dont know what to do now. |

Chiptorque remaps though.
this is one situation where i would reccomend going the expensive off the shelf unit. Run one speedo corrector between the box and the ECU and get chiptorque to remap your ECU's trans tables to reflect your speedo calabration box. This will also give you crisper throttle more power and better econ.
