Did a run today for about 100km on the highway and was pleased with fuel economy, 9.8L per 100km on Hway at 105km/hr and average about 15.9 around town, so it goes to show you dont have to use alot of fuel just because you have a fast car

amazing what a good tune does ;)
if you're not using the power, theres no reason why it'd chew it all!

Very good to know. Someone was saying that even if an engine is revving a bit high on the highway, it isn't actually on boost unless you give it a bootful.

with an aftermarket computer, you can tune the air fuel ratio's to be spot on what they should be.
if you look at a stock cars air fuel ratio's, they're by no means optimal. by adjusting them with an aftermarket computer you're going to get better fuel economy and a better fuel burn, thus more power. if a car has 400rwkw, it doens't mean its using all that power all of the time. it takes just as much power to shift a 1.5 tonne object no matter how much power the actual engine makes. but by optimising what the engine does with its supplied fuel, air and spark, you can get better then stock fuel economy. its all in the tune.

But even with no bov on cruise it wont boost, as the engine isnt flowing enuf air to spool the turbo up.. The bov has nothing to do with it.
On a supercharged car it may be differnt. |

spot on, bov doesn't play any part in the engine making boost. it only releases the pressure in the manifold/intercooler when you back off the throttle suddenly so the pressure isn't forced back through the compressor wheel. Its the same in a supercharged car. you can have the engine revving at 5000rpm on light throttle and it will not be making any boost. It will only boost when load is applied and it will keep building and building until a certain point until the wastegate starts to bleed off the excess exhaust gas. Without a wastegate the boost would keep rising until engine failure. |

Eg, having a second row of injectors controlled by another cheap "piggyback?" ecu?? Im in the planning stages for a turbo setup, and have been researching the fuel system options...
