Hi,
Recent new member and recent new owner of a 1997 EL Fairmont wagon (yep, the family is growing again at the end of the year and we needed the space of a wagon!). Anyway, I picked up a cargo barrier off ebay to fit and have since found out that it came from an EF Fairmont where the owner had to drill their own holes to fit the barrier. On the EL the mount holes (one each side in the rear headlining and one each side just inboard of the rear wheelarch) come pre drilled and threaded from the factory. Woo hoo I thought - easy install! Wrong! The locators provided with the barrier are 10mm (i.e. metric) and won't go more than 1/2 a turn into the threaded holes. So, must be imperial - go and get some 3/8" ones and try them. Again, no luck. So my question is, does anyone know, or know where can find out, the details for what size locator or thread type will fit these existing mounting points? |

It's a Milford.
That's why I figured that the locator bolts that came with it would have been standard, however I've since proven that they don't fit the existing holes in an EL! |

There's both fine and course threads in metric and imperial isn't there?
Maybe it's a fine thread and you've got course thread bolts, or vice versa? Or call a Milford agent and ask them |

Maybe I'll look around and see if there's such a thing as an M10x1.0 (might be a finer thread). I assume the last number on these specifications is the thread size (distance between the thread)? |
