All falcons from EF(?) onwards had eec5 computers, but this one (96 part number, so from EL) claims to be an eec4

if that isnt it let us know eh?

Yes, 96DA and EEC-IV

now its known that EF/L run Psudo EECV, no OBD2 etc etc, and are actualy EECIV ecu's embeded on EECV 4 chip memory locations.

Just baught this ECU and noticed this was quite wierd. The stock one in my EL has 96DA and EECV, hence why i found this odd.

Perhaps it has something to do with the lack of limiter on (most) EEC IV?

If anyone has an EL factory workshop manual, it'd be interested to see what it says about the ECU code. ;)

Why are you using a cop ecu? Do you know they run the trans slightly differently. From what i remember they kickdown to 3rd really easy when cruising wont shift to 4th under some throttle conditions etc. cant really remember now but the differences were quite nifty.

Your right Karl...

The ECU will hold the auto in 3rd unless going over 60kph

Dan you'll beable to fit that 4.11 diff, put in a speedo gear to suit the ECU and you wont be hitting a speedlimiter before the end of the 1/4 mile
