OMFG! Tickford Snorkel Stolen AGAIN!!!

For F***s Sake!!!

Open my bonnet just now to find my AUXR8 Tickford Intake Snorkel Completely gone!!!

The real **** taker is that this is the second time its happened!!!

First time was after it had been to New Oak Fraud in Oakleigh, get home and its had a stock snorkel put in. Went back and they denied anything of it. Went right to Ford HQ and finally got it back cozz it just turned up! F***en Pricks!

Now this time, take it to Bob-Jane T-Mart, get a camber kit put on. Didnt check the engine bay for a few days. Now its completely Empty@! NO SNORKEL WHAT SO EVER!!!

Sh*t thing is I cant prove it was them cozz its been too long! But will damn sure put up a fuss!

WTF IS SO PRECIOUS ABOUT A F***EN $40 PEICE OF PLASTIC!!!!

yeah thats a ***** of a thing.
mine had to be modified to fit so it'd be pretty pointless for them to nick it....but yeah must be the wings on it mate...

That is a low life act, for christ sake, someone stealling a snorkel when it's in for wheel's, go and stir them up mate, take no crap.

But who would think of a snorkel ... damn it's cheap enough to buy from Ford as it is.

Stamp you rego on the flat piece (bottom) before the intake hole in full view, it will probably stay there.

You could try a bit of a BS thing, say that a mate was offered it or something along those lines (maybe one of the workers told a mate they took it) and see if it happens to turn up there!!!!!!!
Tell them you reported it to the police, if it did go from there they just might be a little worried with bad word of mouth etc......

Worth a shot anyway

This is precisely why I hate dealing with any sort of auto workshop... why is it so bloody hard to find a DECENT REPUTABLE person to deal with. I used to have a really top notch genuine bloke mechanic that I used and he was great... until he retired. Now I have to put up with bodgy places that don't give two tosses about my car or anything attached to it.

Case in point: took my Falcon to a mechanic to get its HG done... guy did the job properly etc wasn't a problem with that... except someone stole my bloody mag centre caps!! Cost me $25 ea for new ones and I nearly couldn't get them cause they haven't been made for a while. Whether or not the mech stole it I don't know for certain but ffs they're wheel caps, nothing overly special.

I also had a repair shop once drop a car of mine off a bloody tow-truck and root the front end up but that's another story in itself.

Mate, if I were you, if I were to go to a shop in future I'd be removing the snorkel before hand. Sad to say but some people are absolute dead-shts.

Sometimes if you have to remove the fans or airbox you do forget to put the snorkel back on, ive done it once or twice at work, so they may not have stolen it and just forgot.

Maaate, he took the car to Bob Janes for a camber kit. Why would they need to take off half the intake system to install a camber kit?

Actually to undo and also tighten the upper camber bolts on the intake side of the engine, it is easier to take the duct out of the way and feed your arm up the side of the engine that way. Its not worth stealling, I would suggest it was forgotten and then thrown out by mistake. If you be nice about it you will get more help than if you rant and rave thats for sure! I know i help those who are polite about these things! Those that rant and rave take alot longer if at all to get things fixed!

Go back to Bob Jane and let rip, doesnt matter if you cant prove it. Fact is either someone there forgot to put it back on after they decided it was necesary to admire your intake system when fitting the front left wheel, or someone has stolen it. EIther way make em cough up, wether it be by returning the stolen item or paying you for it.

No way in hell can you let them get away with it

they need to remove the intake to access the bolts inside the engine bay that are replaced when the camber kit is installed.

Instead of going off your nut, why don't you politely pay them a visit and ask them if they usually have to remove anything in order to tighten up the bolts on the camber kit. If they do, then chances are they've just forgotten. People do make mistakes. Just keep a level head unless they start to get rude.

When my car had an electrical problem they forgot to put the battery box back in, I phoned up, and no stories, no nothing, just a sorry sir please come and collect it, so sometimes mistakes happen.

Well good news finally!

The polite approach did pay off (trying hard to hold back from lashing out) and the intake snorkel was recovered.

Bloke said he was going to put it back on when I came back for the follow-up allignment to my camber kit...hmmm

...still they could have called me about that. Hmmm

Despite all the fuss n hoo-haa it was returned.

One things for sure...I'm checking my car EVERY TIME now after any mechanical work is done.
CANT TRUST ANYONE THESE DAYS!

20 minute drive from the city and Both Craig and Deano are dead keen on supporting the forums and its members

I have had several jobs done there and am always welcomed to hang around, drink their coffee and watch exactly what they do

Open Saturdays too if need be

Knox Ford have always been great to me Matt. Always willing to help, and are trust worthy. You just have to watch what they try and charge (like most ford dealers). And knox is open till 12am weekdays, but not weekends.

The alignment can go out a little after some wearing into.
