hey guys
cars playing up just stopeed dead and made a weird pop noise and it blew the rocker cover gasket out ,i asume that was the pop the car wont fire theres no spark at the coil or dizzy so i think it might be the tfi modual so want to know do you have to pull the dizzy out or can you just undo the bolt and move it to the side cheers jarrod

Blowing the rocker cover gasket out sounds a bit strange. It would be worth having another coil on hand to try as well, these go just as often as the TFI module.
To change the TFI module, take of the intake duct, idle control solenoid etc to give a bit better access. Mark the position of the dizzy so you can rotate it back to the correct timing. There is a bolt behind the dizzy that clamps it to prevent it rotating, loosen that off. It may be easier to rotate the dizzy if you remove the distributor cap. Unplug the TFI module. Using a stubby phillips head screwdriver you can remove the 4 screws holding the TFI module to the dizzy. Apply the heat sink compound to the new module, position and screw it on. Attach/plug in all the rest in reverse order. |

Can you turn the engine over and see the rotor turning? Might be something more mechanical than electrical.

YES does it have compression? Is cam turning with engine rotation? Maybe timing chain is suspect? AS in jumped tooth or broken..When key is turned on does fuel pump opperate?? Checl all battery connections are good both earth & possitive..When was fuel filter last changed ??
