Get MPEFI, Change to manual, change to 4.11 diff gears. THat should get you off the line pretty quick.

Manual + 4.11s will mean he's constantly rowing thru the gears. And will possibly hurt 1/4 mile performance if he's that way inclined.

But yes, that would fix the sluggish takeoff for sure!!! :

Not sure about the six, but my V8 sits on 2250rpm @ 100kph and 2500rpm @ 110kph. Can't hear the motor until you accelerate. Fuel consumption has gone up a bit but recently I did a trip to melbourne & back & economy was close to when I had the 3.27 (I went thru b/w half a tank & 2/3 getting there & back... a 400km trip)

Of course, more revs = more engine wear in general.

Goddammit I'm hungover and I've got a tour at DUTSON DOWNS today. For the uninitiated, that's a bigarse poo farm which also takes industrial waste. You can taste the air. And I'm hung over. HOORAY

convert it to MPFI first, i have a manifold with injectors and rail throtle body etc, and a few other bits. You can have them for free as i got them for free. It's a pretty easy coinversion.

turbo (lol i think iv said this once b4 today alrdy lol)

for starts, cam grind would be good, there some good cheap outs out there, 4.11 for ur car, ull be spinning to the next set of lights 3:25 or 3:45 is good enought ;) but they can be expensive :p

startin to get expensive, full exhust, extractors and cat back will give u boost after take off, chip be nice too, mabye even a pod or filter

stuff like that will do wonders, i would say that most ppl on here would recommend/have the same too

your missing one thing...

ITS CFI!!!!!!! Anyone who spends money on diff's, cams, turbos, etc on a CFI motor is fruitcake :P (no go at you jj, just people seem to ask this alot with CFI cars hahaha)

CFI :

get an EL setup mate. Then definately change to a 3.45 - 3.9 diff

This will be the best you could do.. then when the next wad of cash comes in, go a 2800 stall, a huge assed cam and a chip and youll be running some bloody quick times.

Or just strap a turbo on it.. up to you and the wallet really.

What mick said! The biggest problem is you are running CFI! Any mods you make will be restricted by the crap inlet manifold!
In terms of improving on-throttle response, nothing is as effective as converting to multi point - don't spend money on exhausts, cams, chips, diffs, any of that until you have a half decent intake.
BTW, Mick, it was more than $140 because I am selling EVERYTHING that is required.
