Hey guys. Just got my towbar (I call it a reverse sensor) fitted today, and when the guy took off my rear bumper, I found alot of rust spotting all over the main rear support bar of the chassy. This wasn't just spotting either - quite built up and actaully eating into the metal, so I obviously sanded it back and gave it a coat of paint.
My question is where else has anyone else found rust on their AU?

Mine has rust where the strut brackets mount to the rear pillars on the wagon. there is also surface rust on the spot welds between the hinges and the one that worrries me most is about the size of a 20c coin and is about half way along the top of the left rear window under the rubber surround. This one needs attention asap as it is becoming quite ugly.

my series one has rubbed the paint off of the boot lid at the bottom where it contacts the bumper, and on the inside of the panels at the top of the boot where the water drains off from the roof.

mine is rusted on the hinges of the tail gate, mainly due to a poor paint job by previous owner. i should fix that one day!

Like all AUs the most obvious rust I've got is the unpainted block.

Rust on that 'crossmember thingy' where the bumper sits atop and rubs the paint off.

My uncles AU1 has rust in the boot jambs, pretty shocking for a 6-7 year old car.

i actually notice rust bubbling up under the black paint work on the window frame thing on the left front door. Its the bit just above the rubber seal at the bottom of the window, in the middle of the car. if that makes any sense.
