With the advent of Fash Tune, G&D have been tuning an increasing number of Falcons.
Those of you with an AU will be well aware of the effort required for each KW gain. In the context of V8s and turbo sixes picking up 28 rwkw after a tune and mods may not seem a big deal. When you start at 119 rwkw and gain close to 28 rwkw you are approaching a 25% increase in rear wheel power. G&D started with a stock AU six. All modifcations were bolt on - the engine internals were not touched. First the exhaust went to be replaced by Pacemaker competition spec extractors and a G&D spec mandrel bent 2.5 exhaust system fitted with a high flow metal substrate catalytic convertor. The air inlet was replaced with the G&D Air Box and Intake Kit. Using Flash Tune and G&D’s tuning expertise healthy gains were made in both power and torque throughout the rpm range. im curious as to how much it would cost for what you have written above,
or just the flash tuner. with tuning (if needed. not sure of all the details on how they work) and if you guys know about what sort of stuff happens with warranties if those mod's are done (or would i be ebst off ringing ford- my car is under extended warranty)

Very good numbers from an XR6. Auto or manual?
Also, would have been nice to see what each mod actually did. Oh, and its coming to Heathcote next time right?

thats impressive for headers/exhaust, intake and tune..
my car has made 136.7rwkw with just cat/back system and intake.. what gains do you think there are to be had with headers and custome edit tune? |

Has to be a manual, I agree.
Hasnt lost anything down low though, its an overall increase and the real low part of the graph is irrelevant anyhow, thats major low rpms no on would drive at anyhow. The real gains are there to see up high. Mind you, at 119rwkw stock it's a hell of an engine to start with anyhow.. most XR6's dont run that stock.

It's a manual,all testing was started from a low 1500rpm.Next step will be a camshaft upgrade.Unfortunately the owner isn't a drag racer but maybe we can pursuade him _2: Looking forward to applying this formula to some BA I6's.

Its all "guesstimation" but its commonly accepted for the AU's that the Stock VCT will run 110-115rwkw and the stock HP's 105-110rwkw. Of course there is always variances to this but thats the generally accepted figures I have come to see more times then not.

Regardless of the nit picking a 25 % increase in power is not too bad.

Looks like I'll have to up the power or change the diff in mine. Too many manual XR6's with good power numbers getting around at the moment.

Well done Glenn and the boys at G & D for getting behind other Ford models, it's another string to the bow and going by the interest generated there's no shortage of potential customers wanting their AU's going quicker

Thats a really good improvement for a stock internal engine. Just two question though if you could ..What would be the differences between manual and auto's power? Also the head on the test car appears to be a hp motor...would these results be similar with a standard AU six head?
