Yeah, its a perfect way to make your car unregisterable....however its also the perfect way to make your license plate invisible to speed cameras.

If anyone saw that clever show a few weeks ago, putting a large mirror panel on the back of your car will make the liscense plate unreadable... So therefore, if your entire car is a mirror....well...

Find me the clause in the ADRs/DOT requirements that says that a chrome paint finish is illegal.

Speed cameras take visual and infrared photos of your LP.

No amount of magic sprays, mirrors, lenses or flashing lights can fool infrared.

Somehow I dont think that they would have any difficulty identifying that car.. rego or no rego! :P

That Audi owner is the Sultan of Bruni. He has a lot of money so why not have a car of silver.

IR camera? Simple, put a heater element under the plate. Make it nice and hot and it'll appear bright white on the camera.

The car is actually painted with a product made by ALSA Corp called Mirror Chrome. You start off by painting the car black then apply the Mirror Chrome over the top, it's just a special paint. They also have another product called Chrome FX which is a paint system that you can paint anything chrome!

This M3 is painted using the Chrome FX system, just to show the difference between the two. You can also put a candy over these colours to create an anodised looking finish. This bike was done in Chrome FX then cnadied.

That Suzuki looks good.

The Audi is actually silver. Real silver. I got it in an e-mail once.

As for Half A Dollar, why would you do something like that to a Lambo...?

I think those new paints look mad. Seen them advertised in mags lataly. The Lambo looks ok, but the bike both look sick

Why can't you just get the panels actually chromed? I don't see a difference between painting it and actual chroming it(Appart from the weight of chrome).

Because of cost for one and secondly not alot of places have tanks big enough to do bonnets and boots etc. Also alot of todays cars aren't metal so it makes it alot harder.
