im using the volvo fan mainly because of how cheap it was - $50,
it is a 16" and more reliable anyway but really the reason for gettin them is the price. all up when completed the install would be ~$95 |

mate. i got an old radiator you can borrow(for a long long time ;) haha) to make ur brackets
do you remember where i live? Why dont u just trim it with a grinder like i did? dont knock the volvo thermofans.. imo better then EF/EL ones..

cheers eed, i cant remember exactly where you live...not atm anyway.......
main reason for radiator was to knock up some brackets for the bottom and also top so it would be a old fan out/ new fan in job and no mucking around trying to think of a way to mount it solidly... if my car gets out of action for too long i have to drive my laser... but was planning to do it today without a radiator, would much prefer one still... you dont have a 32mm spanner by any chance??...i might have to call ya tomorrow |

thanks anyway eed, but i gav it a go yesterday, and it was easy enough...
and yeh i bought a 32mm spanner from supercheap then returned it coz it "was the wrong size".......haha fan works excellent, the temp drops dramatically when it comes on. good increase in power, main difference i felt though was its a bit freer revving. fixed it, for some reason i have to turn my trimpot in the opposite direction to what the manual states, even though everything has been put in the correct way....
now works really well!! doesnt take long for that fan to get the temp down! |
