Hey
I just got a new Headunit I Currently have the Premuim Sound System. I took it all out..then looked at the brackets and mounts..there is no way that it i can make it fit. How have people over come this and what has been done to close the bottom hole??? its an EFII Ghia |

Ok mate can you provide us with the type of headunit you bought. The ef/el i seen never had a issue with this before.

you can buy a single din surround out of a GLi or something that way the gap will now have a pocket there instead.
use you old stereo brackets on the new headunit. should go in alright then. if its a well know brand unit generally thehave multiple mounting holes on the side of the deck. |

Yeah I used a single din cover to close off the hole and was able to use the brackets off the double din unit to mount the aftermarket stereo. The wiring was the worst part for me!

depending on the headunit we'd have to modify the stock brackets.
the black L brackets have sometimes needed to be flattened a little and new holes made, sometimes they've gone straight on. seems to depend on the headunit.

the headunit is a JVC KD-LXH555
the old headunit bracket doesnt fit on it.no holes line up |

drill new holes in the stock bracket to suit the headunit
