If someone out there with the time, space & know how would be willing to help me get this beast running & registered I would be eternally greatfull.
Im from western Syd

Well I don’t have anything to offer in return except for my time.
Just thought I would get my story out there. Never know ya luck.

not really any help but if i lived in Sydney i would give you a hand as well, but i dont so i cant.
im sure there will be someone your way that can help you out in a time of need.
dont think that you have to leave here if no one sticks their hand up either.
the more you contribute and the longer you stay, the more likely someone will help you in a flash the next time you find yourself in a similar situation.
good luck with it.

I would think being a 89 LTD it would be a 3 speed auto unless modified, I would give him a hand but I cannot even work on my own cars at the moment as my back has been fused together, after hurting it at work as a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist, so I know a fair bit about how stuffed this guy would feel and will probarbly never do a heavy job on a car again, and I can appreciate he doesn't have any money as I am still fighting workers comp, Iam basically a highly qualified dole bludger (nurse, mechanic, retail manager)

G'day mate,

If you have another gearbox to go into it, we've got the space and tools to do it at the RPD workshop. I dunno if it's driveable or not, but if it is, we're in richmond.

Anyway, give me a call on 0422350921, and we can work something out.

Cheers

Thanks for all the replies guys. I really do appreciate it.

It’s a 3-speed 6cly auto. I think the LTDs are known as N/A fairlane or falcons. Not to sure on that one. Im pretty sure an EA box will fit.

Anyway justfordima has offered to find a box and fit it. Thank you very much mate.

All I need now is transport to get the car from Campbelltown to the RPD workshop in Richmond.

Edit: To contact me try 0404 751 957 or ircg0d@hotmail.com email/msn

I was taken to hospital by ambulance on two separate occasions a couple weeks back.
So they had sent me off to do a heart stress test. Where you’re hooked up to a machine and put on a treadmill. I think they have standard speed settings depending on your height, weight & age. Its all designed to see if your arteries are blocked. Well I didn’t even make it to %60 capacity before I fell of the back of the damn thing.
The nurse tried to play it cool but she said no one has ever come off like that. They want me back for another test & they want to stick a wire in through my guts into my heart and pump some die around to spot any blockages. Then I guess they will open me up and rewire me.
My mother has heart probs & angina. My dad died from a massive heart attack in 2001. I guess im next. But im only 29. Im on blood pressure medication and stuff. It’s a bit freaky.
Im a big strong guy & I cant do anything. Just feel useless.
How’s your heart now mate?

Well mate I was doing kung fu ,running ,all that stuff and it hit after watching a Steven Segal movie. Drove myself while haveing the attack and they found I had 3 blockages in my heart. They stented me and I am up and around again. But now I am more cautious, dont listen to crap and walk off on crap artist. Dont be afraid mate.Alot of people die on the spot without even knowing. It sounds like your blocked too. I dont know why they are mucking around with you. The angioplasty will lead to stenting is my bet and your gonna be tired.Dont let it get you down..but get it fixed soon.If you need some answers just post it here Ill talk to you mate. We are brothers. Its not the end for you but look after yourself better.

MaC and useless if you need any info please ask as I have been in this field of work for over 10 years and have done my back in and feel pretty useless myself.

MaC angioplasty is opening the artery and stenting is placing a mesh sleeve in the artery to hold it open, the insert the catheter through the femoral artery in the groin. The injection of the dye initially is to look at the arteries and is called a angiograph, usually the will do a plast or stent at the same time, this is a great advance over a few years ago when the only option was to join the zipper club (bypass surgery) and recovery is much shorter.

I don't know the circumstances at all, but don't worry too much about the nurse's interpretation of your initial stress test mate, if they're getting you back for another one it's most likely because that one had something go wrong. If they thought you were exceptionally crook you wouldn't be doing another one, you'd be straight in for angiography (the dye in the heart trick). I'm not saying it's not serious, but don't stress unnecessarily.
Regarding the angiography, on the positive side you're young so you'll probably recover well, on the negative side if you have symptommatic angina at 29 you'll have to be very vigilant in the future with diet and exercise. If you do everything right and follow the cardiologist's instructions you should be alright. All the best with it all, Matt.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. I will try to reply to you all individually when I get a spare 5 mins. These kids are driving me nuts.

Yes it’s not drivable. Getting transport for this beast is turning out to be harder than I thought. It’s just going to take a little while to save up for a tow. I hope your offer is still good in a few weeks justfordima lol

Surely there is someone up there near you who can tow a tandem car trailer for MaC? They cost about $50 to hire from servos.

All the best with the car, but most importantly with your heart.

God bless you and your family.

Sorry I can't help you with transport mate, Id like to, but I too don't have a car trailer, nor do I know how to drive one come to think of it, never tried.

And as long as we have time when you call, we'll squeeze you in. Just let me know of your plans, and we can organise it around that.

Cheers

How about we get some members to tip in a couple of bucks. I could throw some $ your way mate. I have access to a trailer for nothing, but I'm in Melbourne. Can we make donations to the Ford Forums bank account?

I'm from Campbelltown way, Eagle Vale, if your not sure how the gearbox has died it could well be low fluid. Could you tell us the symtoms of how it died. Anyway if we do get a member here towing it I'll come and help load it...
