Driving to work this morning I saw a hyundai excel being used as a cop car, radar off the side and the police man had a car pulled over a camry or something similiar(old one) I had to look twice but dead set it was a Excel with the radar and the policeman was out writing a ticket and giving it to the person in the other car, no lights or striping or wording on the car just a D car but an Excel.
Please dont tell me old age is catching up with me for god sake I am only in my thirties. |

WTF? You'd have to feel sorry for the policeman who gets to drive that. While his colleagues cruise around in XR8 and SS's, he get's stuck with the litle old Excel.

Did they have a bowlingcap on the rear shelf?? ha ha.
I didn't think a vehicle could be used unless it was a police vehicle?

I tell ya it looked funny, the radar could almost be as big as the Excel, maybe the police trying less threatening or inconspicuous cars to trap the speeding public. Its like the start of the flintstones were they go to the drive in and have the tray/speaker put on the side of the car and it tips the car over, you can just see the excel leaning to one side

Either way I wonder if there are hole in the floor so they can get some extra power for a police chase. |

I've seen a Hyundai Excel make short work of 3 commodore cop cars in a chase through the suburbs.
In a straight line the Excel would get owned tho.

Yeah, I don't know of any policy of the QLD police to use strange undercover cars, but I've seen a battered old R32 4 door Skyline with lights and the police computer setup pulling someone over on the side of the highway... weird!

I've suffered the shame of been pulled over by a camry, he couldn't keep up, and was mighty ****ed off when I stopped, it wasn't my fault he got to work late and all the good cars were taken.

The Torquay TMU used to have a black sportivo. They used to drive it 24/7 tring to put as many k's on it as they could so they could get it updated and changed back to an ss or xr8!! It was sooo hard to spot though. Was talking to 1 of the TMU guys who said its amazing how many people dont pick it. They get so many people with it, but it just takes them a little longer to catch up. Usually when they see the lights they just pull straight over, but he had needed to chase bikes on a few occasions that just ran and it was way too slow to catch up.
I got pulled over on friday night by a blue sportivo which turned out to be a vic roads officer!!!!! After 45 mins of sweet talking my way out of a $500 fine, we were walking back to the ute and my mate says to the guy "by the way, nice camry, wouldnt they give ya a real car!!??" Don't think he saw the humour. Better than what i was thinking though, "nice car fagg, do they make 1 for men??!!" |
