Default G-tech

hi, i was thinking of buying a g-tech device of ebay. Does anyone know how accurate it is? i.e. has anyone compared their gtech 1/4miles to their drag strip (caulder park etc.) 1/4 miles?

cheers

Hi mate, I have a Beltronics meter and is within .2 of a second when set up roughly. They are pretty accurate when set up properly with weight angle of car, aerodynamic efficiency etc.

Maybe Jamie with the TE50 will chime in here, he has used mine more than me

They are not too bad if you set them up correctly, but they are fairly consistent which is enough to get an indication whats going on.

I have one. I can't really comment on its accuracy, because i don't really have access to anything more accurate. But once setup properly, i'll agree that they are at least consistant. At least good enough for before/after runs when modding/tuning.

the main problem is that you have to use it on a flat stretch of road.

inclines seem to wreck havoc with the accelerometer

Lucky I know the perfect flat stretch on the freeway (between ocean reef and the hodges exits) :

How accurate is the car's odometer? I often reset the trip meter to zero, floor it and then stop when i reach 400m. I have been reaching speeds of 155kph - but then again i hear the speedometer isn't 100% accurate.
