Hi Guys,
I have a report from Pedders (read some of the other threads about Pedders being rip off merchants) that states (among other things) the inner rack ends are worn and knocking. This is apparently a $600 repair job. My question is, Are the rack ends easy to replace on the steering rack if I buy the parts and install them myself? Cheers guys! Mark. |

Not worth replacing the rack ends, it's easier to get a changeover steering rack (which pedders can supply) You'd probably be looking at around $800-$1000 to get them to do it though.
You can buy a change-over steering rack from Bursons or Repco, would probably set you back somewhere around $400. It's not the easiest job, but as long as you have a trolley jack and a decent set of spanners, it doesn't take long to change the rack. |
