Fantastic. I know it sounds cynical, as I like the VE. But I do not think that any car should win a COTY award due to its profile, and how much money and publicity has been wasted on it.
No car maker should go in thinking that they have shat it in. |

Think you will find the VE is much more then just a paid advertising car, It's a bloody great car.

P.S It seems to me that without the Holden brand to whine about, the Pub forum would cease to exist.... just Like locally made falcons will unless Ford pull their finger out give the larger public what they want.

Specific niche models aren't the problem. Ford sales are second rate because they aren't supplying a car and service the broader market wants, they have second tier sales people and exhausted the bodyline. I think Ford are also carrying historical baggage.
As far negativity about the Holden brand, well with a captive audience it hardly has any worth except for shallow back slapping. |

Back on topic, well, I suppose it's a wakeup call for Holden. Spent so much money on their cars and are still losing top awards to overseas-owned car makers.
As for the COTY, GOLD! |

I was having a debate about awards yesterday on another forum.
Seriously who cares, they are based on the judgement of people who have their own oppinions like anyone else. |

I don't know why they would care. If a person wanted a VE before the award annoucement all bets are that they sure as hell ain't going to change it for an Aurion. The only valid "awards" so to speak to me are crash ratings for which are based on data not a panel of judges personal oppinions. That's just me anyways. Wouldn't you just puke if it now did win "Worlds best car" award! Highly doubtful though. |
