Default Bob Romano's personal car...

Just reading through "Unique Cars" this week, and noticed the Romano car (EB Fairmont?) is for sale, for $30k+ !!! I haven't got it handy, but it's the same car featured in one of the ford mags. It's running a naturally aspirated 347 stroker (with 8 throttle manifold, looks hot!), with ~460rwhp (345rwkw), T56, road legal slicks all round, and it looks like one of the best sleepers going around. Apparently it's won every dyno comp it's entered (sub 400ci N/A class)...

I dunno why I made a thread, but I just thought it was a pretty cool car.

I was not aware that this had been posted before, and I have yet to see this car come up in conversation in the e-series section. I thought a 340rwkw N/A e-series was quite impressive. Has it been for sale for quite a while? I was not aware, I don't usually read Unique Cars.

http://www.bobromano.com.au/our_cars.htm

Did a search and found this on the "690hp" beast ^^^

"Block : Ford Motor sport A4 race block with 4 bolt main"
"Motec fully programmable computer with lambda and data logging"
"8 x 45mm throttle bodies with linkages and inlet manifold to suit"
"Trick flow alloy cylinder heads (modified)"
"T56 Heavy Duty Transmission - close ratio"

Some nice ingredients right there.

Pics for those who don't know the car but are too lazy to look:

I actually reckon it looks pretty sweet, got that tuff early 90's look to it with the Simmons wheels and squarish body kit.

You'd be so cool if it was 1992 and you took it to the local 7-11 on a Saturday night. The females would love it!

When are you gunna learn that woman who are good in the bedroom and don't hang around 7-11 late on a Saturday night, DON'T CARE about cars!

Awesome looking car though. That's some serious power. I don't care about looks, it's how it performs that counts.

To make that kind of power it would probably rev out to 8000rpm, would sound absolutely nuts.

Lose the bonnet vents and rear spoiler, then replace the rims with black-centre FR19s and colour code the door handles. That would make it one of the best E-series.

Who painted my EB red? :P

I've always loved this car, and yes it did previously have a scoop/"snort" that was compared to the (then-new) BA bulge.

Do you mean black steelies or painted black turbo blades? IIRC turbo blades were 'stock' on EB fairmonts...

Either way would look crap - get some different simmons (or keep them, would probably look ok still), clear indicators, colour coded door handles, take a little out of the ride height and tint the windows really dark FTW.

I reckon that car is great. I don't see what's so ugly about it. I reckon it looks good. Just needs clear indicators
