you can do valve stem seal with head on you need to fill each cylinder(one at a time) with comprested air the get your self a head on valve spring compreser and spring off new seal spring on and so on cylinder by cylinder

Umm, check the oil level.

More than likely though, your brother has put a thinner oil than should have been put in there, and it's either;

a) getting through the rings and smoking that way
b) getting through the valve stem seals

If the oil level is ok, you can use a thick oil, such as 20w/50, 25w/60 or 25w/70. This will mask the problem until even a thick oil will get through and blow smoke.

Then it'll be time for a new engine/major engine repairs.

Default smokey

I had that problem with my ED after i did a service once, and after a couple of days it just seemed to stop smoking, although i don't know if this is a good thing or not,
Either way i'm hoping it won't do it again, once i chuck a tickford head on it.

Can anyone tell me if it's worth while to put in a ED XR6 ECU on once i fit the Tickford head???
Or should i just stick with my normal ECU???
