Well i want to get a new set of rims for my EB but RACV tell me they only allow rims to be of 7" width. And all the 17's and 18's are by 8".
Does anyone know of any rims which are by 7" or know anything about this rule??? Or how to get around it Thanks. |

There is no way around it.
Except, fit the wheels you wish and prove they didn't contribute to the accident when/if you have one. It is not a big deal, you will not get a call telling you that you owe money and they will not deny coverage of a claim. But if you had an accident dut to the wheel hiting a guard or suspension then it will/can be denied. Basically you should be right.

yeah i've got RACV and they said the same thing to me years ago. Solution was to get 2 piece deep dish rims (which I wanted anyway) and you can pick any rim width you like.

Yeah I used to be with RACV and my 16s were the widest I could have. I bet they're going to whinge now that I'm running small-than-stock 14s too.

Just think if you hit a 911 turbo and bounce it into a hotel foyer...I'm pretty sure that with a 1/2 million dollar claim they may look at any means to void the insurance.

I have 17 by 8 inch rims on my EB XR6 and it is listed on the policy. I think they allow up to 8 inch rims as long as the offset is not more than 5mm or something. You should check it out with them, because I'm pretty sure they just don't want 8 inch AU rims, if they are the correct offset then they should be fine.
P.S. I have full comp with RACV

RACV allows 7.5" and 8" wide rims aslong as the offset is 0-5mm positive.
They dont really care about diameter. I have been with them for 3 years and had 7.5 and 8" rims.

So i just went ok and kept my wheels anyway, i have no idea on the offset though. There 17x8" AJR signatures, are they within that specified offset? |
