I had to share this, because... well, it's the first one I have ever seen on the road!
Behold DeLorean, parked in Sydney! |

One of our forum members in SA has one and there is a thread on it in the Project Cars section.
I think XBRULES is the owner. Rare in Australia indeed ... only a handful of them here.

It's always nice seeing a DeLorean that hasn't been turned into a Back to the Future replica (Though I do still appreciate them as well!).

I recall a comment by an owner on TV some time back...he said "everyone wants one...that's because they don't have to live with one"...
Apparently not that powerful...pretty ordinary actually...the number of people who think they're a V8 is amazing because of Back To The Future and the V8 engine noises they had in the film. They're shocked to find out it's only a little V6. Not particularly reliable. But that body, that shape!! Hell, who wouldn't want one??? Definitely on the "lotto garage list"... |

Sat in one of these for a photo when I met Christopher Lloyd. I am 6'3 and the car was TINY to sit in. Banged my knee on the steering wheel getting in, and banged my head on the gullwing door getting out. Felt like I was sitting in a fighter jet though, very cramped and low and sleek.

Wow look how dull and brown/grey Sydney is looking..... :P
On a serious note, that shape has aged well. I have always liked them.

just grabbed a quote from Website called Complex rides
"The original DeLorean did its 0-60 sprint in 10.5 seconds. That's slow even by 1981 standards. Luckily, this new, electric Delorean gets off the line and to 60mph in a quick 4.9 seconds." So apparently the new one is Electric, & still looks the same as that was its best feature, I bet if there was another back to the future movie made it would still have the same V8 sound
