Default "Global" Window Opening

Hi All,

Recently picked up a 2012 Focus MKII Trend .Great car by the way. The manual refers to being able to open the windows using the Key Fob. Various sites on the net state the same. I cant seeem to get it to work and wonder if it is only for higher models.

Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this?

Cheers

not sure on the current model, but with my old LS Focus you held down the unlock button on the keyfob for about 3-4 seconds and the windows would all come down.

Thanks. Have tried that numerous times. Also done the procedure in the manual to 'set' the window limits, which is basically windows down, then press down for a while, windows up, press up for a while.

Nothing seems to make it work. Has me a bit puzzled.

Cheers

my MY08 LT focus has global opening. You hold the "unlock" symbol on the remote control down for about 3-4 seconds and all four windows come down great on hot days to open the car up. My manual says "where fitted which suggest some variations may not have it installed

If it is the same as LV when putting them down you need to press once and hold, they will go down.
To go up i need to press once, then press and hold.

If it's not working by simply pressing and holding either the unlock button on the remote to open the windows or the same process to close them via the lock button on the remote then there is obviously something wrong. It's possible that there is a setting which needs to be activated on yours, this should be able to be done quite simply via the OBD port using a suitable reader. It's under warranty so I would suggest taking to the dealer and having it checked or as it's not really urgent, mention it at your next service

Have you tried resetting the memory of your power windows?

I found something on this forum (from owners of the current Focus): http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums...touch-windows/

Quote:
Hi, it isn't quite the same process to program the windows on the 2011 Focus as the previous models:

1. Lift and hold the switch until the
window is fully closed.
2. Release the switch.
3. Lift the switch again for one more
second.
4. Push and hold the switch until the
window is fully open.
5. Release the switch.
6. Lift and hold the switch until the
window is fully closed.
7. Open the window and try to close it
automatically.
8. Reset and repeat procedure if the
window does not close automatically.

just picked up your reply up.
all windows now programed and work on one touch and global open/close
many thanks much appreciated
If you are still not sure, you might want to research more on resetting procedures for your power window or just have it checked at your Ford dealer/service center.

I followed a similar procedure (may not have been exact) before for my 2006 Focus after I changed the battery, it worked.

Thanks. I will get Ford to check it at the first service. I have tried the above procedure, and variants of it with no success. Cheers

Mk1 or mk2 you can tell by the indicator stalk mk1 has it on the left mk2 has it on the right . Mk1 will have global opening and global closing in ambiente mk2 doesn't.
