Default Got a unichip installed

Hey,

I bought a unichip a few weeks ago off the xr6turbo forums (type C). Today Dynomotive tuned it, it always used to surge sometimes when flooring it and used to run fairly rich so it needed to be done. I also wanted to see if it was making anywhere near 174rwkw which I really doubted it made, certainly didn't feel like a 174rwkw car!

I asked what the before dyno run was, and he said that it wasn't doing the car justice and only made high 140rwkw's, compare this to 174rwkw it made on jim mocks dyno :S

Feels ALOT better, so much smoother and it idles very good, feels alot stronger throughout the rev range too especially up top.

Wicked Gilly! Nice result. It must move a whole lot better now if you've gained 20-25rwkws.

That other dyno operator just keeps up that reputation.....

Nice figure, hopefully it shows an improvement at the strip as well.
Another car with a dev5 cam pulled 159 at dynomotive on the FM dyno day, was an EF XR6, no tune however.
That car was a lot of fun to drive on the street, so you'd be enjoying yours I bet ;)

Top stuff Gill!

I just went for a spin in it, a tune is always definitely worth the dollars. Just make sure you've got everything you want done to it before you take it in, otherwise going back for re-tunes is going to cost you heaps lol.

What else was done to it? 159 is pretty impressive without a tune and what sounds like "just a cam".

Point I was trying to make was thatneedforspeeds sounds like a realistic reading on a dyno thats repeatable, not trying to make his figure sound low.
Should have mentioned that EF had similar work, cheers for correcting me Mr.LS1 :
In conclusion, 160+ at dynomotive = fun for the whole family.

Nah I wasn't having a go or being smart, I was just interested to know. It takes a fair bit of NA work to get past 150.

Dynomotive is the best. Great service, decent price, no waiting around for ages and a accurate dyno.

I bought the unichip for $200 with a loom, installation and a tune cost $660.

Their number is 9762 6500 if you want to talk to them, couldn't say a bad word about them! I've only ever heard good things about them.

Thats awesome Gill. You picked up some serious power there. I reckon Unichips are good for what they are, I got about 13rwkw extra out of mine back in the day. It'd be interesting to get a JMM dyno reading now! Probably break the 200rwkw mark :P

correct. also, manual helps, somewhere around 10rwkw with that sort of power.

my auto made 152rwkw on petrol, with headwork, 1521a, 3k stall and all the usuals.

Well George managed a 14.5 with a crap clutch and bad tyres, so with a tune and good tyres, good cluctch I don't think a low 14 would be out of reach, I wanna get a fair few runs at the AFF drag day so we'll see how we go!

Ah another E-series Uni-chip. Hardest thing is finding a tuner with these things, but you can feel the differnce once its been tuned to its potential
