Dealerships are not owned by Ford so it is hardly fair to tar them all with the same brush.

Whilst there may be some shockers, there are plenty of great dealerships out there with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Actually a dealer us XR5 guys used for servicing/mods in the past up here in Brisbane, one of the mechs is now at Etheridge, great with the spanners aswell.

you've clearly never worked for ford spare parts. the amount of NLA or ONR parts is incredible. irs bushes for au- obsolete, power steer hoses for ea- ed obsolete, heater tap assy for certain 06 bf 6cyl- obsolete..........

conversly i had a customer enquire about a roof vent for a 85 nissan caball...available AND a choice of colours.

the lack of early model support from ford is one of the most frustrating parts of my job.

6months?! Let me guess, to save a few bucks, they requested that the part be put on the next shipment by sea, which is only placed once there's a full container to send, rather than air freight.

Thats awesome customer service...

I'd be much happier knowing it's going to take 6 months because there's an issue with availability. Instead of simply just being humored over the phone for 3 months with no actual direct communication on it.

Does anyone else get an email from their dealership after a service or warranty work saying FOMOCO will call you to ask for your feedback and give you 2 movie tickets if you reply?

Have been to the dealership twice and still waiting for my call. I want those tickets!

My dealer calls after some services but not all. Next time they call I might ask how often they should call and. They used to send letters to remind of services.

The exhaust place I've always dealt with, including the place my family has used for years always calls within one week on any work carried out and asks for feedback.

Absolutely exception service from these guys. Old School car guys who will always point out something completely stupid. IE, sitting there waiting for my car a guy comes in with a massive 5" Cannon style exhaust straight from autobarn -- the guy behind the counter just looks at it and says "No. Not a chance. Take it back, get your money back and come back and we'll talk about a real exhaust. "

Early model support AND late model support. I've been waiting for 2 months and am still waiting for Ford to release SZ Territory ABS sensors. No projected release date, coming from Ford Spares HQ itself. Really questioning my brand loyalty at the moment.

Had my BF GT in for service at a Melbourne dealership last week. I got a call from them to advise me that they planned to rotate the tyres. I asked exactly how they planned to do this, remove the tyres from each wheel? The guy said nup, just swap rears to fronts, diagonally opposed.

I said err, you'll have a problem there mate. Firstly, directional tyres. Secondly, the BF has different wheel offsets, rear to front. He cottoned-onto the directional thing, but I still had him a bit stumped on the latter.

Look, we can all make mistakes in our jobs, and that's life but geez, that's pretty much a schoolboy error. FPV dealership as well, so no excuse really. I hate to think what would have happened if I was away and my wife had dropped the car in. She would have just said OK and I would have got back a car with the offsets all wrong and the tyres facing backwards!!!

Guys - Just had my 2006 SY Territory serviced (135k) at Ford here in Canberra today - (it's a novated lease car so I don't get to normally see the detailed invoice but the service guy gave it too me for my records), I see I was charged $89 for oil! Magnatec Pro 10/30. I think this is excessive. Normally all I get to see is the final cost on my lease report every few months. I'm getting rid of the car in 2 months and am about to get a new one (SZ Diesel), but am really astounded about this. Is this normal? If so I'll be talking to the lease company about getting it service elsewhere.

It is high. But the territory does take 7L's. Although people save some money going down the road to Supercheap and supplying it, I think about the time it's going to take out of my busy day...

Mind you I don't think it's that bad, I'd be up for about $70-$80 to get 2x5L's to supply...
