The interior still s me. I'm a physically plump bloke (120kg's, 6 foot) and i didn't fit in the seats of a WRX i sat in.. I wasn't sure which model it was though, it was the one before the bug eyes model. If the seats were bigger, so I fit in them, I'd consider buying one..

As for whether I drive responsibly or not.... well that was my point, it is not dictated by the type of vehicle I drive, whether it be my previous XR6, my current WRX or anything else. :nutsycuck Quote:

love the rear, hate the front. maybe they should have tried to make it look like a scaled down liberty? i honestly cant fault the new lib.
and yes ive seen the new rex in the flesh, made absolutly no difference.

Who cares? 99% of XR owners wouldn't either. So what? Oh, the bit where I said "but they pretend they can by driving like tools on the road". Pfft, so what. If you're amused that's good - was a joke. I see bad WRX drivers, and I see bad drivers of all cars. So, where's the ignorance and outlandish claims bit? Do 50% of all WRX owners go to the track do they? If so - I appologise. Quote:

I never said the car was crap, nor that all wrx drivers suck. I made a fair enough comment about the fact that not many would take them to the track, and then followed it up with a joke about how I see WRX's pretending they are at the track on the road. I think you took my post the wrong way if you see it as anything more than that. Quote:
I think you'll find I'm not as anal as you think I am ;) I probably shouldn't have posted the first post in this thread, wrong place, wrong time. It's not my habit to go around trying to **** off posters (or bag cars - unless maybe they're Holden ) But I didn't feel (looking back on it) that it was as harmful as you say it is. I don't quite see where all the fuss is. If I offended anyone, I appologise to them. If someone can provide statistics on how many WRX owners actually take their cars to the track, I'd appreciate it If it's < 10%, which I bet it is, that's all my point was. I was responding to someone who was talking about how they are a road version of the rally car - and simply was agreeing with someone who said that the vast majority of owners would never even go to the track. Now - back on track with the thread... :eclipsee_ My vote: don't like the styling. Haven't really since the bug eye days (which I think probably was the best looking WRX). Last edited by Deadman; 27-12-2005 at 10:49 AM. |

As for watermelons, try cutting them into pieces rather than eating them whole, they will be easier to pass and may improve your sulking disposition! You were checked for what was considered a rude comment, take that as good advice! |

They are ugly as sin. And yes, I see the pricks every day. I don't know how anyone can say the interior is improved, it's the same as the MY04 interior.
But hey, give it 6 months and the B9 will make the WRX look like a work of art. IMO the MY04 was the best looking of the lot. MY99 comes a close second, but they are starting to look really dated. Quote:

The WRX club in Vic was one of the fastest growing clubs in Vic (maybe Aust). It grew out of nothing (no previous history) and now has a lot of members. There are some tools and ****ers in the club (the same as most clubs) but the quick cars with the quick drivers are very, very quick. The ST04 is part of a lineage of special limited edition Subarus with unique modifications (styling, power and handling). I've seen the new "hamster" face on cars on the road and prefer the old face. Maybe it looks better on the Tribeca? The problem with the new corporate faces (Mitsubishi, BMW, Audi, etc) is adopting them to all models - small, large, new and existing. The other thing is that maybe the future models are good looking but there needs to be a mid-level look between the new look and the existing look to get the public acclimatised to the styling (like the BMW 7 series which looked fugly at first but now doesn't look as shocking to me). Time will tell but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Last edited by Rev28K; 27-12-2005 at 04:52 PM. |

As for the track, I'm pretty sure it'd beat a V8 on a twisty track simply because it's a far lighter car and has the benefit of AWD, however they do tend to run out of puff while the V8s keep powering on on the straights. That's why NSW cops never used them as highway pursuit vehicles. I personally think they are MORE suited to the track because down low, it drives just like a standard Impreza. Every single WRX/STi I've driven drove the same - like a kitten up to 2500-3000rpm and then it too off like a bullet. The problem with that is by the time you've reached 3000rpm in 2nd gear you're well over the limit already. Not a bad car, and can be a lot of fun to drive, but overall I find the XR6T or XR8 a far better car to live with on daily basis, and considering I'm a rep, that's no. 1 on my list of priorities. |

I would buy one, but I may be a little biased, I certainly would buy the one picture S204 but sadly they wont be available here.
Has anyone here actually driven one?.........

The auto's in them don't destruct themselves every 10.000 klmrs..There driveline is reasonably strong without breaking C/V joints..There four piston all round brakes seem to work o/k too..I must be one of the very few thats taken one to the track..
Does it matter who drives them ?? Its the bloody car that matters.. Value for money compared to other rally type cars sold to public there is hardly any comparison!! If Ford bought out the rally Focus for similar price ?? I doubt it...

Exceptionally beautiful and WRX aren't 2 words that belong together. You are kidding right. An Aston Martin is what you would call exceptionally beautiful, a WRX is better referred to as a eyesore.
