if you have a service book, like gregory's, etc then it should tell you in that. there are a lot of things that can affect the result, like how many km the car has done, how often it has been serviced, etc

Don't have a Gregory's, but was hoping someone might have.
The car has done 135K and has been serviced regularly but has had a trailer on it almost all of the time so it has worked.

Hi Mate.... the numbers you should be looking for are....
100-650 kPa ( all cylinders need to be within 100 kPa of each other ) (must crank engine over several times before you achieve the correct numbers) If compression is low...pour a table spoon of oil into the sparkplug holes....if compression improve vastly....then it is your rings....if it doesnt improve with oil your looking at a broken ring or valves ethier burnt or valve seats....if two cylinders are just the problem it could indicate a simple head gasket problem. Anyway hope this helps you out....and good luck!!! :

the other thing that can cause oil usage without affecting compression is valve stem seals...of course if it is only these they are a lot easier to replace than rings or a head gasket
