Default Best way to get rid of an old car.

Hi Guys,

I've recently finished uni, got a job and lashed out on a new(ish) car ('05 BA2, E-Gas sedan, 45000km... good stuff )

Anyway, I need to work out what to do with my old car..... 1980 244DL Volvo, 4 on the floor, 4cyl carb...

It's still registered (until mid December) but wouldn't pass a RWC, and it has a few issues (ie no windscreen wipers) so I wouldn't really want to push anyone to drive it daily unless they were as good with machines as me (I'm an engineer).

I've called around some wreckers - some don't want it, others will give me $50 if I deliver it. It's a bit sad getting rid of your first car, but even sadder when it only fetches enough to buy a carto... The tyres are probably worth that :P Let alone roof racks etc.

Has anyone got suggestions for good places to sell parts cars around Brisbane, or tips for trading post etc?
