Angry Newbie question

Hey guys, sorry if this has been covered before but I could not find anything relevant from the search funtion.

Well last night someone broke into my car via the drivers-side back door with it seems a screwdriver, and all the doors seem to have been attacked with a coat hanger! I have seen the RACV got into my car in 20 secs by pushing the back window in with assistance to pop the back lock open...... Is it possible to pry the door open with a screw driver?

Thankfully, there was nothing stolen, perhaps the very bright interier light took them by surprise!

I live on a main road in an area which would be considered a low-moderate car break-in suburb. However this is not the first time someone has been trying to break into my car.

I am now considering geting a car alarm but I don't no where to start and how much they cost, can someone please guide me in the right direction?

thanks heaps

oh yeah i have a 94 ED Futura Classic with smart-lock
