It seems to me that any upgrade to the 2008 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor should be done with the Engineering Input of Ford Australia - perhaps even sharing common parts such as the suspension and drivetrain.
Check out this note at the PFSA website - and especially the link to the attached word document: http://www.pfsa.org/crown_vic_rumors.htm Lukeyson

its sad whats going on with the Crown Victoria....
Ford US already removed it from the 2008 model year offering on the web site too bad! Here's my 10 CVPI's I've owned since I got my license, will be buying another one perhaps in a year or two... not new obviously. http://www.crownvic.net/jerseyvics/index.html --Russ

Pontiac G8 (SS dunnydore) police interceptor anyone?
So why didn't Ford US use the Fairlane platform??? Even if it was built there and re-engineered for the US crash safety standards. It sounds like that's what they are having to do with the Crown Vic anyway.

So Ford Australia is helping to develop the new Ford Crown Victoria which will be based of the 2012 Falcon ("Huntsman") and will incorporate the TTDI 3.5L V6 and a 5.0L V8. I like the sound of that.
