Default The curse of superlows

Superlow bretheren unite...

Was just parking the car, done it a million times before in the same spot... front bar decides to catch on the ground rail at the front of the parking space... no big deal, happens every now and then... pop her into reverse and cringe as she dismounts herself (as you do). Sounded a bit harsher than usual.

Damn straight. Got out to have a look and the bloody bumper has broken just behind the passenger side indicator. Completely busted.

Doh!!!

bummer, even the EF's just lowered a little bit catch, the amount of times I lifted my mates EF off concrete is way too many to count.

Some car parks are ridiculous. Anyone who's been up on the top of chermside shopping centre in anything less than a 60 cm Karl Morser German Heavy Assault Gun SU-600 is going to get beached.

Sorry to hear about your bumper 4.9, hope it's quickly resolved.

massive amen to that. every time im up there i just cringe at the sound of my zorst/underbody squealing the whole length of those metal speedbumps. that i managed to semi pop out the tow bar cover in my rear bar at milton maccas one morning. i didnt even know i had a cover, now it looks terrible and i need a new bar.

Yep, the underside of my car is pretty badly scratched up due to me figuring out which parts of the uni carpark are OK to park in... Damn huge speed humps! Even taking them diagonally won't work...

I feel for ya :(

Interestingly enough though I haven't gotten my front bar stuck yet...

I havent had any problems with car parks, I just leave the *** hanging out. Dont have problems with speed bumps either, and I dont have to slow down much for them. What shockers are you guys using?

The panel is fine, but the bumper is well and truly broken near the mounting point. Could probably be fixed but not worth the trouble - the bar has been through the wars and is missing a lot of paint already...

Im thinking might be time for a bodykit.

Sorry to hear of the parking misfortune. Some parks, and particularly speed humps, are a disgrace, I wonder who the hell built them.

Martin, ive been caught on DJ's carpark a few times, but your car would do it even more so (rather low for just superlows).

speed humps are designed to slow down 4wd's and completely stop any other car.

Anyone is Adelaide with superlows would cringe at the humps in The Village Shopping centre at Golden Grove. They are rediculous. You get some weird looks from people while you wait for the oncoming traffic to clear so you can go over the humps at a tight angle. My driveway is pretty bad too, but I do that every day, so its sussed.

Martin, chuck another stock bar on The EF. Keep her looking sleeper.

I can't go up onto/down from (there is an on-ramp which leads directly to the top floor which I can't take anymore cos I won't be able to get down) the top floor of carpark at work anymore cos the ramp is at too great an angle. So I have to spend like 10 minutes driving around waiting for someone to leave. Also, I barely made it out of the place where I got the kit fixed up and put on, and I scraped the front bar getting into midas to get the exhaust altered so it didn't melt the rear bar. Midas is along the side of the gold coast highway, and the edges of the road slope right down on either side, but then driveways to business etc are the opposite and are pretty steep for a bit after the 'gutter', so it was pretty tricky to get out fast enough so that I didn't cause an accident but slow enough so I didn't destroy the car.

golden grove sucks with the dodgy speed bumps and funny angle driveways! another reason my bar got damaged was the hoist at work, it just cleared going up, but came off a bit quick (eager for a beer after work!), and totally smegged up the underside of the bumper, i was lucky a crash repairer owed me a favour and he fixed it and sprayed it for free! cant complain he did a great job, and it cost me zip!
