A few years ago, quite a few, I pulled up in a car park and this lady nearby locked her keys in her car. She saw me pull up and figured one ford key should open another ford so she asked me to give it a go. I told her not to be stupid and ring road side service to get them to open it. After she nagged me enough I decided to give it ago to prove her wrong and : , it worked.

I memorised her rego number just in case I needed change for the parking meter in the future.

haha at programming smartlock remotes to other cars. actually mines prgramed to my mates ef ghia. looks funny as when you park em beside each other and unlock and lock both of them because the indicator flashes go at exactly the same timing it trips people out

hahaha, got to love smartlock remotes ;)

i would definetly upgrade to the tibbe locks. my old EA key could open and start my dads XW and vice versa. i just ended up converting my EA to the later locks.

Had a mate that his first car was a Hz. my ute key opened that.
He then got a nissin bluebird trx. ute key opened that.
his old man had a camira. my keys would open that.
he brought a xf ghia. I could open that with my xf key.
it was 1 in a million chance of my keys opening all of the first
5 or so cars my mate had.
he then moved to toowoomba and I never tryed his newer cars

I can get into and start my mate's car with a flat head screwdriver. I think he needs new locks. :

a very reliable person told me that every key made can open at least 3 other cars as well as the one it was made for,,holden are exactly the same,,but to have three in the one area is a real coinsidence

na... not going to work like that..

depending on the lock, for example your typical house key... 6 pins at 9 positions..

so there are 9 to the power of 5 which works out to something like a 1 in 900000 possibilites.

cars are the same... but, the difference is the profile and the ability to stick the key in..

most of the locks that wear out are caused a steel key used in a brass wafered lock, which in turn causes the lock to wear out, but the key to not.. so the key works as like a hacksaw eating away at the locks internals... as a result of this, the lock becomes less and less precise. The lack of precision is what in turn creates more and more possibilities of different keys working, up until a dipstick will work because it pushes in the pins just enough... to the most extreme cases where a screwdriver will open or start the car.. in these situations most of the time it is very obvious because you will be able to remove the key in any position.

No tibbe is no better... same sort of principal...
